The Strawberry, an award-winning film shot right here in Cambria, celebrates with a red carpet screening and cast Q&A just down the coast in Morro Bay.
Filmed in Cambria by Slabtown Studios, this locally made feature has earned recognition on the festival circuit, including runs at the SLO International and Desertscape film festivals. The filmmaker behind it was raised in Cambria, making this a genuine hometown story worth celebrating, even if the screening itself is a short drive south.
The evening includes a red carpet, a screening of the film, and a Q&A with cast and crew. The cast features Mike Farrell of M*A*S*H and Doug Jones of The Shape of Water. General admission tickets are $25, with VIP now sold out. Please note the film centers on a terminal diagnosis and end-of-life themes, and may be emotionally intense for some viewers.
The screening takes place at the Bay Theatre in Morro Bay on Monday, July 6, at 5 p.m.
