The Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre presents Little Shop of Horrors, the cult-classic musical comedy about a hapless florist and his very hungry plant, running two weekends in August.
This deviously funny sci-fi smash follows Seymour Krelborn, a meek flower-shop assistant who discovers a mysterious plant with an appetite that could change his fortunes, and the neighborhood, forever. With a memorable score of rock and roll, doo-wop, and Motown, plus larger-than-life puppetry and plenty of dark humor, it is one of the most beloved musicals ever written, created by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken of Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast fame.
Performances run Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 16, with evening and matinee showtimes across both weekends. The show is rated PG-13 for mature themes and comic violence, with a running time of about 2 hours and 15 minutes, including one intermission. Please note there is no late seating, as the performers make vigorous use of the aisles, so plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early.
