Land That I Love: A 250th Celebration

July 5 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PDT
Free

Even if we can’t pronounce it, we can still celebrate it.

First Baptist Church of Cambria invites the community to a special program and picnic marking the nation’s semiquincentennial, its 250th anniversary.

The program is a family-friendly, patriotic service surveying 250 years of America’s most loved church music. Follow the changing instrumentation through the decades, from a capella to strings, organ, piano, and a multi-instrument band. Singing along is encouraged. The program opens with the posting of the colors and the national anthem and runs about an hour. A nursery will be available for children 3 and under.

Immediately following the program, stick around for a complimentary BBQ picnic out on the patio, with cornhole, volleyball, frisbee, and quieter games for those who want them.

Here’s the schedule: 10:00 AM, coffee and donuts (what could be more American?) 10:30 AM, program 11:45 AM, BBQ picnic

This is a free event, but an RSVP is requested at fbccambria.org/250th. For questions, contact the church office at [email protected] or 805.927.4789. First Baptist Church is at 2120 Green Street, on the corner of Ardath and Highway 1.
