DESCRIPTION:We will be presenting this spring concert on May 10 and May 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Cambria\, 2250 Yorkshire Drive\, and we truly hope you will join us. \nThis year’s program is one that we are especially excited to share. It brings together a wonderful variety of music\, from inspiring sacred works and beloved folk melodies to spirited spirituals and familiar favorites from film and stage. \nWe are proud to open the concert with “The Star-Spangled Banner\,” arranged by our music director\, Ron Perry. Ron has put together a beautiful and thoughtful selection of music that includes “Kyrie\,” “Hark I Hear the Harps Eternal\,” “Wild Mountain Thyme\,” “Elijah Rock\,” “Prayer of the Children\,” and “The Storm Is Passing Over.” \nThere are also lighter and nostalgic moments in the program\, including a medley from Disney’s The Little Mermaid and the much-loved “If I Only Had a Brain\,” which ties so beautifully into the concert theme. \nFor many of us\, music is more than notes on a page. It is memory\, comfort\, celebration\, and hope. Our goal with this concert is to offer an afternoon that lifts the spirit and brings our community together through the joy of song. \nThe Cambria Community Chorale has long been a cherished part of life here on the Central Coast\, and we are honored to continue sharing music with the people of Cambria and our surrounding communities. A portion of ticket sales helps support the Cambria Youth Music Fund. \nSpend an afternoon with one of Cambria’s most established musical groups\, in a setting that reflects the heart of the local community. DESCRIPTION:Carnegie Hall comes to Cambria. \nThe public is invited to enjoy a world-class classical music performance by internationally acclaimed pianist Katya Grineva on May 3rd at 2 PM at the Community Presbyterian Church of Cambria. \nA celebrated Steinway Artist\, Katya has performed a record 23 solo concerts at Carnegie Hall\, more than any other female pianist in the hall’s history. Known for her deeply expressive and lyrical style\, her playing has been described by The New York Times as “liquid… dreamlike.” \nThis special concert will benefit Katya Concerts for Kids\, Inc. (KCK)\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the transformative power of classical music to children in underserved communities. Through live performances\, interactive experiences\, and educational outreach\, the organization introduces young audiences\, many for the very first time\, to the beauty\, inspiration\, and emotional richness of classical music. \nNew York-based Katya will be visiting friends in Cambria and has agreed to perform a concert here. The event is being sponsored by the Cambria Chorale and the Community Presbyterian Church of Cambria\, which has generously opened its beautiful hall\, featuring a superb piano\, for this special occasion. \nWhile admission is complimentary\, guests are kindly encouraged to consider a donation to Katya Concerts for Kids\, Inc.\, with a suggested minimum contribution of $50 per adult. \nAs seating is limited\, please contact John Briscoe at briscoe874@gmail.com or call 505-263-8414 to reserve your seat.
