Ragged Point’s setting at the gateway to Big Sur makes for one of the most scenic afternoons of live music anywhere on the coast. \nThe concert runs from noon to 3:30 PM and is free to attend. The restaurant\, espresso and bakery\, and gift shop are open throughout. Ragged Point is about 20 minutes north of San Simeon along Highway 1\, an easy North Coast drive. \nThere is always more happening along the coast. DESCRIPTION:The Cambria Center for the Arts opens “Working With Wood\,” a month-long exhibition featuring four local artists exploring wood as a medium from completely different angles.\nThe show runs from Tuesday\, June 2 through Sunday\, June 28\, with an opening reception on Saturday\, June 6 from 4:30 to 6:00 PM. Snacks are complimentary\, and wine is available for purchase. \nWood has been part of Cambria’s identity since its earliest days as “Slabtown\,” a Monterey pine lumbering hub\, and that legacy continues today everywhere from the driftwood huts along Moonstone Beach to the artist studios tucked into the pines. This exhibit features Steven Beck\, Brooks Lawrence\, Jim Rogers\, and Bill White\, each approaching wood from a totally different perspective. Expect furniture\, kitchen utility pieces\, and pure creative expression all in one room. \nGallery hours run Tuesday through Sunday\, noon to 4 PM.
