The Famous Jazz Artist Series presents The Music of Stan Getz, a live performance honoring the legacy of the legendary artist known for his smooth tone and groundbreaking work in both American jazz standards and Brazilian bossa nova.
This special performance features an outstanding lineup of musicians, including Karl Welz on saxophone, Rich Severson on guitar, Dylan Johnson on bass, and Darrell Voss on drums, along with series producers Charlie and Sandi Shoemake. Together, they bring a rich and dynamic interpretation of Getz’s most iconic recordings and musical style.
The program highlights both classic jazz standards and the Brazilian influences that helped define Stan Getz’s sound, offering a performance that is both sophisticated and deeply enjoyable.
